MONTESANO, Wash. - Grays Harbor County has adopted a 5-year All Hazard Mitigation Plan, Deputy Director of Emergency Management, Chuck Wallace told the Commissioners Monday "You are takign a hug step in showing the community that you are willing to accept responsibility to say 'we're looking to the future to make things better and to allow everyone, in the event of a disaster, to make things whole again'."Wallace said a special session later this month will allow other cities to annex in to the County's plan. Wallace also thanked Lee Napier for her hard work when he explained that the plan took almost two years to complete.
County Commissioner Terry Willis said having the plan keeps the doors open to state and federal grant funding. "If you don't have a Hazard Mitigation Plan in place, you can't get funds to mitigate."
